Job Details

About the internship

Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities include:

1. Scoping out new data sources to complement existing ones
2. Creating and maintaining distributed web scrapers using Python, RabbitMQ, and other technologies
3. Helping architect and manage data pipelines where data flows into multiple end-points including, but not limited to, Postgres, MongoDB, and DynamoDB
4. Documenting workflows and constantly iterating to create a better data infrastructure

1. Should be proficient in Python or any other object-oriented language

Should have worked with large (millions to hundreds of millions of rows in a SQL database) interdisciplinary datasets

3. Should have scraped difficult websites and have some experience working with various data APIs

4. Should be patient and methodical with unstructured and messy data

5. Should be always hungry to learn newer and better technologies to make the data ecosystem faster, smoother and less silo-ed

6. Should have some experience working with social network analysis

7. Should have performed geospatial analyses in some capacity

8. Should have created and managed data lakes in the cloud
