POSITION SUMMARY:
Within discipline develops designs for complete and complex engineering systems, structures and plant arrangements under supervision.Plans and executes the presentation of these in detailed scale models.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

- Generates 2-D Computer Aided Design (CAD) plant layouts and drawings using Microstation / Auto CAD / Smart Sketch from detailed design 3-D CAD model with minimal guidance from others.
- Proficient in S3D/Revit modelling - Equipment modelling, Raceway, Grounding and lighting.
- Preparation of 3-D CAD design model under the supervision of experienced designers.Assists in constructing detailed models and participates in client model reviews.
- Prepares bulk material quantity takeoffs for materials applicable to the discipline.
- Reviews design models, drawings and design documents prepared by others in the group and by material suppliers, as assigned.
- Compiles, maintains and accesses job drawing files, records, and drawing controls.




- Works with designers in other disciplines to coordinate overall design and technical requirements.
- Participates in and fosters a work environment that is based upon openness, trust, communication, teamwork, empowerment, innovation, and satisfaction.

JOB KNOWLEDGE:

- Sound knowledge of CAD design and drafting techniques using S3D /Microstation, engineering drawing, graphic arts, reading of drawings and reproduction methods used by the discipline.
- Familiarity with relevant design standards and guides, Skill in reading, interpreting, and using related documents and drawings prepared by other project groups.
- Knowledge of the application of engineering and construction materials related to the discipline's design responsibilities.
- Basic Knowledge of industry and regulatory standards, design criteria, and codes relevant to the discipline.
- Knowledge and understanding of Raceway, lighting, grounding design and modelling, cable sizing.
- General knowledge of technical responsibilities of other groups associated with the total design effort.
- Experience in using Navisworks for model review and clash detection, proficiency in SPR.
- Extraction and preparation of material quantity take-offs from design drawings.
- Able to work in a team and cross functional environment.

BASIC QUALIFICATION:

- 3-year diploma in Electrical from an accredited college or university.
- 2-5 years working experience.
