Objectives of this Role

1. Maintain essential IT operations, including operating systems, security tools, applications, servers, email systems, laptops, desktops, software, and hardware

2. Own projects, solutions, and key responsibilities within the larger business environment

3. Handle critical IT tasks and systems that provide commercial advantage in a global marketplace

4. Enable faster and smarter business processes and implement analytics for meaningful insights

5. Nurture dependable IT infrastructure and networking that’s always up and running

6. Partner with internal and external partners to communicate project status, activities, and achievements

Responsibilities

1. Perform server administration tasks, including user/group administration, security permissions, group policies, print services, research event log warnings and errors, and resource monitoring, ensuring system architecture components work together seamlessly

2. Monitor and respond to hardware issues as they arise; help build, test, and maintain new servers as needed; Software installation and maintenance

3. Maintain internal infrastructure requirements including, laptop and desktop computers, servers, routers, switches, firewalls, printers, phones, security updates; support internet, intranet, LANs, WANs, and network segments

4. Interact with the help desk and other teams to assist in troubleshooting, identify root cause, and provide technical support when needed

5. Perform routine/scheduled audits of the systems, including all backups

6. Develop internal systems to improve organizational workflow using technology

7. Document process manuals

Provide occasional coding support

Skills and Competencies

1. Bachelor’s degree in technology or computer science; Master’s degree will be a plus

2. Proven work experience of atleast 5 years in IT domain: Windows/Linux system administration

3. Experience with or knowledge of programming languages (Python, Perl, Ruby, C++, Java) and operating systems; current equipment and technologies, enterprise backup and recovery procedures, system performance-monitoring tools, active directories, virtualization, traffic, content delivery, and caching

4. Comfort working with multicultural teams across countries and time zones

5. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

6. Ability to perform under pressure and meet deadlines

7. Entrepreneurial attitude to handle challenging tasks, deal with ambiguity and shoulder responsibility
