The Senior Oracle Database Administrator will participate in the installation, configuration, maintenance, and performance management of critical database systems for HPE. This is a senior level technical position requiring Oracle database skills, attention to detail, and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities:

- Manage databases through multiple product lifecycle environments, from development to mission-critical production systems

- Configure and maintain database servers and processes, including monitoring of system health and performance,



to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security

- Independently analyze, solve, and correct issues in real time, providing problem resolution end-to-end

- Ensure databases are configured in compliance with standards, and are available, healthy, and performant.

- Effectively work both independently with minimal supervision, as well as working within a team environment

Skills and Qualifications:

- Senior-level experience with Oracle database administration in an enterprise environment, including:

- Oracle Database software installation, patching, and upgrades

- Oracle Database creation, deployment, and management on Oracle RAC.

- Database performance tuning and troubleshooting

- Real-world experience with Oracle RAC, Oracle ASM, Oracle Data Guard

- Database platform migrations using RMAN

- RMAN-based recovery, cloning, migration, duplication, and backups

- Flashback technologies and their configuration

- Oracle Enterprise Manager Grid Control administration

- Familiarity with SOX audit compliance

- Cross-platform migration

- Working understanding of computer networking, as it applies to client-to-database connectivity and configuration, firewall traversal and troubleshooting, and Oracle network stack configuration and troubleshooting.

- Demonstrable knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) configurations driven by Oracle Data Guard for physical standby databases.





- Proficient in Linux/Unix from a power-user and scripting perspective

- Ability to work on complex tasks alone or with other team members

- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.

- Ability and willingness to work effectively in a geographically dispersed team.

Education and Experience:

- B.Sc. in Computer Science or B.E./B.Tech & equivalent experience

- 10 or more years of enterprise-class Oracle Database experience.
