Job Description Summary

All resources, and logistics required to perform services and maintenance activities on customers' site/property. These activities contribute to, maintain, repair and refurbish sold or existing products. Includes all types of maintenance service (preventive and remedial), manage maintenance facilities and field services engineering. Impacts departmental operations and responsible for planning/execution. The role has some autonomy but is focused on execution of activities within an operating discipline covered by standard functional practices and procedures. Some judgment may be required but this is typically with guidance.

Job Description

Role Summary /Purpose

- Mechanical & Electrical Field Engineer. Field service at customer sites, onshore and offshore – India and International. Field engineering for rotating machines products and projects including Motors & generators
- Customer Project Management for All Industry - Execution as per process till the hand over / PG Completion.
- Drive, Own, Responsibility – Installation, Service Contract Execution.
- All resources, and logistics required to perform services and maintenance activities on customers' site/property
- Site Erection, Site Management, Services to have flawless execution of the complete Green field or Brown Field Projects in India & Global
- Activities contribute to, maintain,



repair and refurbish sold or existing products. Includes all types of maintenance service (preventive and remedial), manage maintenance facilities and field services engineering.
- Require frequent traveling up to 100 % to various client sites throughout India and globally

Essential Responsibilities

- Work Experience: Minimum of 7 to 9 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering in the Service industry. Commissioning and operation/start-up of rotating equipment.
- Large power capacity from 1 MW to 40 MW synchronous & induction machines, Turbine and Large Rotating machines installation, commissioning and service.
- Be a leading example in maintaining high standards of EHS in the field, working directly with the GE EHS leadership and service management teams and our customers towards achieving our goal of zero injuries
- Installation, commissioning, troubleshooting and servicing of mechanical rotating machine systems
- Deliver field services fulfillment for our customers in terms of EHS, Quality and Delivery
- Provide technical direction and supervision to a team of technicians and craft labour, when required
- Develop and further expand technical knowledge and expertise, currently recognized industry standards for engineering ability.
- Perform administrative functions; such as safety plans, risk assessments, method statements, site inspection reports, technical reports, materials requisitions, customer reports, time sheet and expenses T&L;




- Maintain knowledge of the report system to the extent required for timely and accurate input of field information necessary.

- Generator & Motor mechanical and electrical expertise
- Ability to understand machine performance & controls
- Trouble shoot at site for achieving required performance including vibration.
- Field commissioning experience
- Inspection and maintenance of motor and generators.
- Ability to work effectively with minimum supervision and supervise contractors

- Prior field engineering experience is preferred.

Qualifications / Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university or college or a high school diploma / GED with at least 7 to 9 years of experience in Services.
- Strong commitment to EHS values and policies
- Field service engineering experience (rotating machines, mechanical)
- Valid passport and driver’s license.
