Position Overview

Job Title: Branch Operation Analyst
Location: Mumbai (India)
Role Description
The Clearing and Settlement Analyst is accountable for managing the end-to-end clearing and settlement process ensuring smooth and timely market settlement of securities and cash transfers between the bank and its counterparty. This includes clearing and settlement through primary and secondary markets, or direct payment to clients and banks.

The Clearing and Settlement Analyst supports interfaces with different internal and external stakeholders (front office, clients, brokers, nostro agents, exchanges and clearing houses) involved in the clearing and settlement process chain, according to the market standards. The role is responsible for trade date to settlement date processes (pre-matching and confirmation, trade processing, cash transfer, instruction routing, depot and inventory management, funding and settlement monitoring) and post-settlement date processes (fails management).

Your key responsibilities

- Daily creation and Maintenance of various Static Data and Matrices
- Capturing of Corporate Events related to Equity Securities from various sources




- Ensuring timely reporting of Forthcoming Events and Entitlements to Clients.
- Creation of outstanding positions and relevant regulatory reporting.
- Tracking and reporting of forthcoming Meeting Events (Voluntary event) to clients.
- Daily processing of Proxy voting instructions (E voting) and related reporting.
- Daily updation of Paid up Capital and SAST reporting and Limit monitoring.
- Directly responsible for understanding various terms of debt securities & capturing them in our internal systems for static debt master creation.
- Reconciling dividend receipts, processing & intimating clients as per deadlines.
- Ensuring timely reporting of debt entitlement notifications.
- Event processing for fixed income securities which would include tracking and delivery of physical/ electronic securities to issuer prior to due date.
- Voluntary event processing for fixed income securities which would include monitoring of Client instructions
- Daily processing of monetary corporate action payments with respect to interest and redemption processing which involves projections, tracking receipts. processing & reporting.
- Co-ordination with Issuers/ Paying Agents / Trustees for confirmation of receivables, TDS amount deduction & timely receipts.
- Maintaining DB internal control standard, implement, observe Group Compliance Policy and maintain awareness of operational risk and minimize the likelihood of it occurring
- Ensuring market and internal deadlines are met to meet the overall objective of ensuring excellent service to clients.
- Monitoring & escalating non receipts of dividend & other debt receivables to relevant authorities.
- Daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly reporting to clients, regulators and management.

Your skills and experience





- Knowledge of securities operation products, such as OTC settlement, CCP and Xetra settlement, auto-borrowing, DMA, etc.
- Knowledge of the client set-up and the service agreements, including knowledge of the respective terms and conditions
- Prompt reaction to client inquiries within the respective deadlines (see best practice guidelines)
- Oral and written fluency in English/German and possibly other languages
- Prompt communication/escalation of extraordinary, difficult and risk-laden client inquiries, as well as complaints
- Preparedness to take on back-up functions
- Cooperation within the team, beyond the team (live an open door policy) and adjoining departments
- Realistic priority-setting under consideration of the total scope of tasks set
- Efficient, structured, independent and autonomous working
