About the Role

We're looking for a Senior Software Engineer/Lead who is equally strong across the backend and frontend and can take complete responsibility for delivering tasks and resolving key challenges. You'll design and develop systems and solutions end-to-end scalable REST APIs with Python and Django/DRF, responsive interfaces in React, and reliable async/event-driven services with Celery, Redis, RabbitMQ, and WebSockets. This is a hands-on role that also carries team lead responsibilities: guiding a small team, driving R&D; on complex problems, and working closely with product managers and other stakeholders to keep deliverables on track.

Key Responsibilities

- Take complete ownership of assigned tasks from understanding and analyzing requirements to design, development, delivery, and resolving key technical challenges.
- Design and develop systems and solutions across the full stack, applying strong system design and data-structures & algorithms (DSA)

- Build and maintain backend services and REST APIs using Python, Django, and Django REST Framework (DRF).
- Develop responsive, performant frontend applications in JavaScript and React.
- Design and implement asynchronous and event-driven workflows using Celery, Redis, RabbitMQ, and WebSockets.
- Plan work based on priorities, guide the team, and support them in resolving roadblocks.
- Work as a team lead delegate effectively, retain ownership of outcomes, and mentor engineers without micromanaging.
- Work closely with product managers and cross-functional teams (QA, DevOps, business stakeholders) to keep deliverables on track.
- Contribute to code reviews and drive improvements in the development process.
- Support the team in brainstorming, resolving production issues, root cause analysis, and fixing performance bottlenecks.
- Drive R&D; stay updated with new tools, frameworks, and innovations, suggest alternate approaches, and help the team overcome growth-related roadblocks.
- Contribute to team activities, including hiring and the interview process.
- Identify and mitigate security vulnerabilities (e.g., XSS, SQL injection, session hijacking) and follow secure coding practices.

Required Skills & Experience





- 4 to 7 years of professional software development experience building production web applications.
- Strong backend expertise in Python and Django / Django REST Framework (DRF).
- Solid frontend experience with JavaScript and React.
- Proficiency with MySQL relational data modeling, complex queries, and optimization.
- Hands-on experience with Celery, Redis, RabbitMQ, and WebSockets for asynchronous and real-time processing. (Must-have)
- Good knowledge of system design and strong data structures & algorithms (DSA) fundamentals.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a research-and-development (R&D;) mindset for tackling complex, ambiguous challenges.
- Comfortable picking up current challenges and quickly learning new tech stacks, tools, and programming languages as needed.
- Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs.
- Sound understanding of web security fundamentals and how to defend against common vulnerabilities.
- Proficiency with Git-based workflows (GitHub) and collaborative development.
- Team lead experience able to guide a small team and work independently in a remote setup.

Nice to Have

- Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS or Azure) and search technologies (Elasticsearch / OpenSearch).
- Experience with FastAPI, or with GenAI/LLM integrations (OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Gemini, Llama).
- Familiarity with third-party integrations — payment gateways, identity providers (Okta, PingFederate), or document intelligence services.

Educational Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
