Purpose/Objective

The Shift Incharge ensures the smooth operation of production activities during assigned shifts by supervising production processes, maintaining quality standards, ensuring compliance with safety protocols, and managing personnel. The role is pivotal in achieving production targets, minimizing downtime, and driving operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities of Role

Production Oversight and Management: Supervise all production activities during the shift, ensuring that operations run smoothly and efficiently according to the production plan. Monitor the performance of all equipment and machinery, ensuring they operate within the specified parameters to achieve optimal production levels. Quality Control: Ensure that the quality of the cement produced meets or exceeds company and industry standards. Oversee the implementation of quality control measures and adjustments to the production process as necessary to maintain product quality. Safety and Compliance: Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries. Conduct regular safety inspections and briefings to ensure that all shift personnel are aware of and comply with safety regulations. Team Leadership and Personnel Management: Lead and motivate the production team to achieve shift targets and objectives. Manage personnel issues such as scheduling, attendance, and conflict resolution to maintain a productive work environment. Coordination and Communication: Coordinate with other Shift Incharges, the production manager, and other department heads to ensure seamless operations across shifts. Communicate any significant issues or deviations from the production plan to the production manager and other relevant stakeholders. Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving: Respond quickly to any production issues or equipment malfunctions, troubleshooting problems, and implementing immediate corrective actions to minimize downtime.



Escalate complex issues to the appropriate department or technical support teams when necessary. Inventory and Resource Management: Monitor the use of raw materials, consumables, and supplies during the shift, ensuring optimal utilization and minimal waste. Report any discrepancies or shortages in inventory to the production manager and assist in the resolution. Record Keeping and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of production data, including output, downtime, and quality metrics. Prepare and submit shift reports summarizing production activities, issues encountered, and any corrective actions taken. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and suggest initiatives to enhance production efficiency, reduce costs, and improve product quality. Participate in continuous improvement projects and support the implementation of new processes or technologies. Emergency Response: Act as the first point of contact for any emergencies that arise during the shift, coordinating the response and ensuring the safety of all personnel. Implement emergency plans as required and provide transparent instructions to the team. Qualifications and Experience

Education Qualification: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field. Work Experience: 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment, preferably in the cement or heavy industrial sector. Industry Knowledge: In-depth understanding of cement manufacturing processes, including raw material handling, kiln operation, and milling processes. Understanding of equipment maintenance strategies and troubleshooting in large-scale industrial setups.
