97Job Title : Sleep Study Technician / Diagnostic Technician / Multiskilled Medical Technician
Job Purpose:
The Diagnostic Technician will be responsible for conducting diagnostic procedures at patient residences, corporate sites, ensuring accurate testing, patient safety, data integrity, and regulatory compliance. The role requires strong technical expertise, patient handling skills, and readiness to work in field-based and rotational shift environments.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
A. Patient Handling & Home Visit Services
1. Visit patients homes, corporate sites as per scheduled appointments.
2. Verify patient identity, explain procedures clearly, and obtain written informed consent before conducting any diagnostic test.
3. Ensure patient comfort, privacy, and safety throughout the procedure.
4. Maintain skilled conduct and discipline while representing the organization during home visits.
B. ECG & Holter Monitoring
1. Perform resting and stress ECG procedures as prescribed by physicians.
2. Attach and instruct patients on Holter monitor usage, including dos and donts.
3. Ensure correct electrode placement and optimal signal quality.
4. Download recorded data and prepare preliminary technical reports for physician review.
5. Ensure proper documentation of equipment usage and patient records.
C. EEG (Electroencephalogram)
1. Conduct routine and sleep EEG tests as per clinical protocols.
2. Prepare patients and explain procedures in a clear and reassuring manner.
3. Ensure accurate electrode placement and continuous monitoring during the test.
4. Record and label data accurately for neurologist interpretation.
5.
Maintain equipment calibration and testing logs.
D. Sleep Study (Polysomnography)
1. Conduct overnight sleep studies at patient residences or designated facilities.
2. Set up and calibrate sleep study equipment including sensors for:
- Brain activity
- Respiratory parameters
- Oxygen saturation
- Monitor patients throughout the study and troubleshoot technical issues.
- Generate preliminary technical reports for physician review.
E. Equipment, Documentation & Compliance
1. Maintain all diagnostic equipment, ensuring cleanliness, calibration, and functionality.
2. Record and update equipment logs, service records, and calibration documents.
3. Ensure compliance with hospital policies, statutory guidelines, and client SOPs.
4. Maintain accurate patient test records, consent forms, and visit reports.
5. Report equipment malfunction or incidents immediately to the Team Leader / Operations Manager.

Qualification & Experience
- Diploma / Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology / Radiology / Neuro Technology / Cardiac Technology or equivalent
- Relevant experience in diagnostic services, hospitals, home healthcare, or corporate health setups preferred
- Valid registration/certification as applicable
