Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Senior MEP Design Engineer specialising in HVAC systems. The candidate will be responsible for designing, reviewing and coordinating HVAC & MEP systems for commercial, industrial, residential, healthcare, hospitality and institutional projects.

The role requires strong technical knowledge, proficiency in HVAC design software, understanding of applicable codes and standards, and the ability to coordinate effectively with architects, consultants, clients, contractors and other engineering disciplines.

Key Responsibilities

- Carry out HVAC heat-load calculations and equipment selection.
- Design chilled-water, VRF/VRV, DX, ventilation, exhaust, pressurisation and smoke-management systems.
- Prepare HVAC system concepts, design basis reports and detailed engineering documents.
- Prepare ducting and piping layouts, schematics, sections and equipment-room layouts.
- Calculate duct sizes, pipe sizes, pump heads, static pressure and ventilation requirements.
- Select AHUs, FCUs, chillers, cooling towers, pumps, fans, ventilation equipment and control systems.
- Prepare equipment schedules, technical specifications, BOQs and tender documents.
- Review shop drawings, material submittals, technical datasheets and contractor proposals.
- Ensure HVAC designs comply with NBC, ISHRAE, ASHRAE, SMACNA, NFPA and relevant local codes.
- Coordinate HVAC services with electrical, plumbing, fire-fighting, architectural and structural systems.




- Identify and resolve design clashes and site coordination issues.
- Review BIM/Revit models and coordinate with BIM engineers.
- Attend client, consultant and project coordination meetings.
- Provide technical support to estimation, procurement, execution and commissioning teams.
- Conduct site visits, inspections, design reviews and installation-quality checks.
- Review testing, adjusting and balancing reports and commissioning documentation.
- Guide and mentor junior HVAC and MEP design engineers.
- Monitor design progress and ensure timely submission of drawings and documents.
- Support value engineering and optimisation of HVAC system performance and project cost.

Educational Qualification

- Bachelors Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- Postgraduate qualification in HVAC, Building Services or Energy Engineering will be an advantage.

Technical Skills

- HVAC heat-load calculations.
- Duct sizing and pipe sizing.

- Exposure to LEED, IGBC, GRIHA or energy-productive building projects.
- Experience in site execution, testing and commissioning will be an added advantage.
