Job Description - Sales Engineer/Sr.Sales Engineer

Department: Sales & Business Development

Location: Vidyavihar, Mumbai

Salary Budget: upto 8 LPA

Role Summary:
The Sales Engineer will be responsible for end-to-end tender and proposal management, customer coordination, commercial documentation, vendor management, and order conversion activities. The role requires close coordination with internal departments and customers to ensure timely submission of proposals, successful order closures, and smooth project handovers.

Key Responsibilities

1. Tender & Proposal Preparation

- Prepare and submit technical and commercial proposals/tenders within stipulated timelines.
- Ensure 100% compliance with client requirements, tender terms, and specifications.
- Prepare accurate estimates, costing sheets, and commercial calculations for tender submissions.

1. Vendor & Quotation Management

- Obtain quotations from vendors and suppliers for required materials and services.
- Conduct comparative analysis of quotations to ensure cost competitiveness and compliance with project requirements.

1. Documentation & Authorization Compliance

- Arrange and maintain all tender-related documents, authorization letters, statutory documents, and certifications required for submission.
- Ensure all documentation is complete and submitted within the prescribed timelines.

1. EMD & Bank Guarantee Coordination

- Coordinate the submission, tracking, renewal, and closure/refund of Earnest Money Deposits (EMDs) and Bank Guarantees (BGs).
- Maintain records of all financial instruments related to tenders and contracts.

1. Customer Coordination & Tender Follow-up

- Regularly follow up with customers regarding tender status, technical clarifications, and commercial discussions.
- Coordinate with customers to facilitate smooth communication and timely responses.

1. Order Conversion & Business Closure





- Follow up for purchase orders and work orders after L1 declaration.
- Maximize tender-to-order conversion through effective customer engagement.
- Ensure timely receipt of work orders and coordinate with internal teams for project initiation and execution.

1. MIS & Tracking Management

- Maintain updated MIS reports for submitted proposals, tender status, order tracking, and business opportunities.
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting of sales and tender-related activities.

1. Contract & Agreement Compliance

- Coordinate the timely submission of Bank Guarantees, agreements, and other contractual documents as required by customers.
- Ensure compliance with all commercial and contractual obligations.

1. Quality Inspection Coordination

- Conduct internal inspections of materials/goods before dispatch to ensure quality compliance.
- Coordinate customer pre-dispatch inspections and facilitate timely dispatch of materials.

1. Project Handover & Coordination

- Ensure timely supply and delivery of project materials/services.
- Coordinate with the Operations & Maintenance team for seamless project handover along with all required documentation.

1. Additional Responsibilities

- Perform any other duties and assignments entrusted by the Management from time to time in the interest of the organization.

Educational Qualification

- Mechanical Engineer/B.tech/BE

Experience

- 3 to 5 years of experience in Tendering, Sales Coordination, Proposal Management, or Business Development.
- Experience in industrial, engineering, EPC, or Operation & Maintenance businesses will be preferred.
