We are looking for a highly skilled Sr. Performance Test Engineer to define and execute performance testing strategies for complex applications. The ideal candidate will have expertise in load, stress, and endurance testing, with solid analytical skills to identify performance bottlenecks and recommend optimizations.

Job description

Work with customers to capture the performance requirements and convert it into performance SLAs that can be used for performance testing.

Define performance test strategy for applications built with different types of architecture like Client Server based architecture, Microservice based architecture etc.

Design and execute load, stress, capacity, spike and endurance testing using the leading tools in the market including JMeter.

Perform both server side and client-side performance testing, verify the performance of batch jobs etc.

Design and execute performance tests (load, stress, spike, capacity, endurance) using tools such as JMeter, WebLoad, LoadNinja, or similar.

Monitor application performance using (APM) tools like Dynatrace, AppDynamics, New Relic, or Datadog.

Do performance and scalability testing of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes).

Integrate performance testing into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab, Jenkins) so that performance tests get executed as a part of the build release.

Create advanced test scenarios and analyze large datasets using scripts in Python, Java, Groovy, or Shell scripting.

Create the performance summary report and share it with the relevant stakeholders.

Work on performance modeling, capacity planning,



and scalability assessments.

Duties & Responsibilities

Work with the different projects and gather the performance requirements including the infrastructure requirements.

Work with stakeholders (Product Owners, Architects, Development Leads) to gather performance requirements and define performance SLAs.

Develop performance test strategies for applications built on various architectures (e.g., client-server, microservices).

Plan and set up test environments, test data, and test scripts aligned with the performance strategy.

Execute performance tests and analyze results to identify bottlenecks in application, infrastructure, or database layers.

Collaborate with development, DevOps teams to recommend tuning & optimization measures.

Re-execute tests post-optimization to validate improvements against SLAs.

Generate and present performance test summary reports and actionable insights to stakeholders.

Continuously monitor production performance baselines and provide recommendations for scalability and reliability.

Evaluate and adopt emerging performance testing tools, frameworks, and best practices.

Mentor junior engineers on performance testing methodologies and tools.
