Job Summary

TESCRA India is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Software Engineer with expertise in Exigen Insurance Suite (EIS) and Java to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining intermediate modules within the EIS platform, contributing to the design and implementation of robust software solutions. This role involves active participation in design and code reviews, comprehensive testing, and efficient resolution of production issues. We are looking for an individual with a robust understanding of insurance business processes, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

1. Develop and maintain EIS and Java code for intermediate modules, ensuring adherence to coding standards and best practices.
2. Participate actively in software design reviews, providing constructive feedback and contributing to technical decisions.
3. Conduct thorough code reviews to ensure code quality, maintainability, and performance.
4. Create comprehensive test plans and execute unit, integration, and acceptance tests to validate software functionality.
5. Resolve moderate defects and production issues in a timely and efficient manner.
6. Design, document, review, and maintain components of software solutions for intermediate projects.
7. Respond effectively to production problems and support production changes for the applications in operation.

Educational Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Must-Have Skills

1. Strong understanding of EIS (V12 or V20) and Core Java concepts.
2. 5-7 years of professional software development experience.
3. Advanced SQL skills, including solid SQL debugging and tuning capabilities.
4. Advanced Oracle knowledge.
5. Intermediate UNIX proficiency.
6. Expertise in EIS V12 or V20.
7. Experience with Product Factory (V12) and Kraken Rules (V20).
8. Proficiency in Java, including OOPS concepts and Java Spring Boot.
9. Experience with SOAP/REST/JSON web services.
10. Familiarity with Test-Driven Development (TDD) for unit, integration, and acceptance testing.
11. Experience with code refactoring and GIT version control.
12. Understanding of coding standards, build processes, and security best practices (web security/API security).
13. Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
14. Solid analytical abilities.

Good-to-Have Skills

1. Knowledge of the Insurance business domain.
2. Experience with React.
3. Familiarity with HTML/CSS.
4. Experience with Cloud Infrastructure.
