Role & responsibilities

Key Roles & Responsibilities

- Develop and maintain quality control procedures and inspection standards.
- Inspect raw materials, in-process components, and finished products.
- Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T; requirements.
- Conduct first article inspection (FAI) and final inspection.
- Perform root cause analysis for quality issues using tools such as 5 Why, Fishbone Diagram, and Pareto Analysis.
- Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to eliminate defects.
- Monitor production processes and ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Handle customer complaints and coordinate resolution with production teams.
- Prepare quality reports, inspection records, and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, or other applicable quality management systems.
- Coordinate with production, design, purchase, and suppliers to improve product quality.
- Conduct supplier quality evaluations and incoming material inspections.
- Use measuring instruments such as Vernier Caliper, Micrometer, Height Gauge, Bore Gauge, and CMM (if applicable).
- Support internal and external quality audits.
- Train operators and production staff on quality standards and inspection methods.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce rejection and increase productivity.





Required Skills

- Strong knowledge of Quality Control (QC) and Quality Assurance (QA)
- Good understanding of GD&T; and engineering drawings
- Knowledge of PPAP, APQP, FMEA, SPC, MSA, and 8D methodology
- Experience with ISO 9001/IATF 16949 quality systems
- Problem-solving and analytical skills
- Positive communication and teamwork
- Proficiency in MS Excel and quality documentation
- Attention to detail and accuracy

Preferred candidate profile

Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or Production Engineering

1-5years in Manufacturing, CNC, Automotive, Precision Engineering, or Engineering Industries
