Job Description - Software C++ Developer

Role Summary

BMW TechWorks India is looking for an experienced Software C++ Developer to design, develop, and maintain high-quality software solutions for next-generation automotive applications. The ideal candidate should possess strong expertise in Modern C++, object-oriented design principles, and system-level programming, with the ability to develop robust, scalable, and high-performance software components.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and maintain software applications using Modern C++.
- Develop productive, reusable, and maintainable code following industry best practices.
- Apply Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles to create scalable software architectures.
- Analyze, debug, and resolve software defects while ensuring high code quality.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver technical solutions.
- Participate in code reviews, unit testing, integration testing, and continuous improvement activities.
- Optimize software performance, memory utilization, and execution efficiency.
- Contribute throughout the complete software development lifecycle, from design to deployment.

Required Technical Skills

- Strong hands-on experience in C++ development.
- Excellent understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts:
- Abstraction
- Encapsulation
- Inheritance
- Polymorphism

- Strong knowledge of Modern C++ (C++11/C++14/C++17), including:

- Smart Pointers
- Lambda Expressions
- Standard Template Library (STL)
- Multithreading
- Templates




- Copy Constructors
- Function Overloading
- Inline Functions
- Vectors
- Pointers and Memory Management

- Good understanding of Data Structures and Operating System fundamentals.
- Basic knowledge of Embedded Systems and microcontroller communication protocols such as I2C and SPI.
- Familiarity with networking fundamentals, including:

- OSI Model
- TCP/IP Protocol Suite

- Experience in software development, debugging, testing, and defect resolution.
- Knowledge of Python will be considered an added advantage.

Preferred Qualifications

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Embedded Systems, or a related engineering discipline.
- Experience working in Agile software development environments.
- Exposure to version control systems such as Git is desirable.
- Automotive software development experience is a plus.
