Position: Quality Control-Assistant Manager / Deputy Manager

Role Purpose
The role is responsible for leading the Quality Control function to ensure consistent product quality, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement of Quality Management Systems. The incumbent will drive cost optimization, reliability, and team performance while aligning with organizational quality objectives.

Key Responsibilities

1. Quality Management & Compliance

- Ensure adherence to defined quality parameters and budget targets
- Maintain records and compliance as per BIS guidelines
- Lead internal quality audits and ensure closure of non-conformities
- Drive implementation and continuous improvement of QMS

2. Operational Excellence

- Oversee day-to-day QC operations ensuring minimal breakdowns
- Optimize utilization of manpower, machinery, and resources
- Implement Statistical Process Control (SPC)
- and improve process capability

3. Continuous Improvement Initiatives

- Lead Six Sigma and Total Quality Management (TQM) initiatives
- Conduct failure analysis and implement corrective & preventive actions (CAPA)
- Drive cost reduction through analysis of Cost of Quality (CoQ)

4. Customer & Supplier Quality

- Manage customer complaints and ensure timely resolution
- Implement preventive actions to reduce recurring issues
- Conduct supplier audits and assess process capability & QMS effectiveness




- Support PPAP submissions for customer approvals

5. Team Leadership & Development

- Lead and mentor a team of managers, engineers, and chemists
- Conduct training programs for staff and operators
- Drive performance management and capability building within the team

6. Laboratory & Systems Oversight

- Ensure proper functioning of metrology and testing laboratories
- Maintain accuracy, calibration, and standardization of equipment

7. Reporting & Reviews

- Conduct weekly and monthly departmental reviews
- Present audit findings, quality performance, and improvement plans to management

Key Deliverables

- Achievement of quality targets within budget
- Reduction in defects and customer complaints
- Effective audit outcomes and compliance adherence
- Cost optimization and efficiency improvements

Qualifications & Experience

- Education: BE in Chemical Engineering / M.Sc. in Chemistry
- Experience: Minimum 8+ years in Quality Control (preferably cement or heavy industry)
- Age: 32-40 years
