Role & responsibilities

This role will participate in the testing phases at suppliers and ensure that products comply with specifications, internal procedures, and good engineering practices regarding quality, documentation, and, when necessary, preparation times. He collaborates with technical departments to resolve issues and nonconformities and contributes to the supplier performance evaluation process.

Key Responsibilities

Testing activities (Witness)

- Review inspection plans from suppliers and ensure they align with our specifications based on project requirements.
- Coordinates testing visits with suppliers, potentially including customer representatives when necessary.
- Participates in intermediate and final tests at supplier locations.
- Prepares test reports following inspections, evaluating product conformity and potentially authorizing product release.
- Follow up on any issues or non-conformities identified during testing.
- Review test reports from external inspectors and those issued by suppliers, along with other accompanying certifications.
- Facilitates communication between Ballestra's engineering team and the supplier's technical staff.

Expediting activities

- Evaluates, through visits to suppliers or the documentation received, the real state of manufacturing by the project schedule.
- Keeps the expediting report for the reference supply updated, which he exposes to the project team during coordination meetings and elaborates reports dedicated to the project.
- Prepares expediting reports downstream of the inspections carried out,



assessing the degree of progress and the state of preparation of the same.

Pre-qualification of new suppliers

- Analyses the documentation necessary for the qualification of new suppliers, also by means of on-site audit activities, in order to ascertain the completeness of the requirements.
- Prepares a report, containing all the useful information, for each new supplier encountered and shares and discusses it with the competent offices.

Back-office activities

- Collaborates with the Design departments in the definition of standard and/or project quality control plans;
- Collaborates with field staff and Engineering, as needed, for the diagnosis and resolution of technical problems encountered during testing and/or complaints received from the field and attributable to proven supplies.

Required Skills

- Valuable knowledge of English, written and spoken
- Knowledge of technical drawing
- Knowledge of welding processes
- Familiarity with the main quality control techniques (penetrating liquids, pressure tests, dimensional and visual controls, etc.)
- Familiarity with the main office automation software
- Good command in the use of Excel
- Aptitude for interpersonal relationships
- Ability to work by objectives and identify priorities
- Organizational autonomy and planning of one's own work
- Availability for short but frequent trips in Italy and abroad
- Previous experience in mechanical manufacturing companies at the Quality Control or Technical Office for at least 5 years
