Job Purpose To serve as the official face and voice of Chandigarh University's major institutional events by delivering engaging, qualified, and high-energy stage presentations while ensuring seamless audience engagement, protocol adherence, and coordination with event stakeholders. Key Responsibilities • Anchor university-level events including Convocations, Orientation Programmes, Cultural Festivals, Academic Conferences, Sports Events, Award Ceremonies, VIP Visits, and National/International Conferences. • Conduct live stage hosting with confidence, professionalism, and excellent audience engagement. • Adapt anchoring style according to the nature of the event (formal, ceremonial, academic, cultural, entertainment, etc.). Script Development • Prepare and customize event scripts, stage flow, cue sheets, and announcements. • Coordinate with event managers, protocol teams, and organizing departments to ensure script accuracy. • Research speakers, guests, and event highlights for impactful introductions. • Work closely with the Event Production Team, Technical Team, Hospitality Team, Branding Team, and Protocol Team. • Coordinate backstage activities and ensure smooth event transitions. • Maintain event timelines and stage discipline. • Deliver announcements with excellent diction, pronunciation, voice modulation, and stage presence.
• Handle unexpected situations on stage confidently. • Engage audiences through interactive sessions wherever appropriate. • Ensure proper introduction and acknowledgment of dignitaries as per protocol. • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism during high-profile events. • Represent Chandigarh University in an exemplary manner. • Maintain repository of scripts, event reports, and stage documentation. • Support rehearsals and event dry runs. • Participate in planning meetings and post-event reviews. Qualifications & Skills: • Bachelor's Degree in Mass Communication, Journalism, Theatre, Performing Arts, Public Relations, Event Management, English, or any relevant discipline. • Postgraduate qualification in Mass Communication/Event Management shall be preferred. • 3–5 years of professional experience in live event anchoring. • Experience in universities, media houses, event management companies, corporate events, or television/radio hosting will be preferred. • Portfolio of anchoring videos is mandatory. • Excellent public speaking and presentation skills. • Strong command over English and Hindi (Punjabi will be an added advantage). • Script writing and editing. • Event protocol knowledge. • Stage management. • Basic understanding of audio-visual equipment and event production.
