Senior Accounting Specialist Full-time Chennai India Now more than ever the Toast team is committed to our customers We re taking steps to help restaurants navigate these unprecedented times with technology resources and community Our focus is on building the restaurant platform that helps restaurants adapt take control and get back to what they do best building the businesses they love And because our technology is purpose-built for restaurants by restaurant people restaurants can trust that we ll deliver on their needs for today while investing in experiences that will power their restaurant of the future Bready to make a change Toast is growing in India In addition to our software development team we are building a captive Finance shared services team The Senior Accounting Specialist will report to the Accounting Manager and will provide support to the Global CAO organization by posting journal entries preparing account reconciliations and performing ad hoc requests as needed by the accounting team We are looking for candidates with an accounting or finance degree and experience working for a publicly traded company About this roll Responsibilities Payroll Accounting Compliance Prepare payroll accounting for US and EMEA entities including journal entries reconciliations and reporting Ensure compliance with US GAAP local statutory requirements SOX controls and internal audit standards Month-End Close Reporting Support month-end and quarter-end close by preparing journal entries reconciliations payroll prepaid fixed assets and payroll cost flux analysis Deliver accurate schedules and insights for management and auditors Collaboration Stakeholder Support Partner with Payroll Operations Finance Strategy and other teams to ensure data integrity resolve discrepancies and provide audit support Process Improvement Technology Drive process improvements automation and system enhancements in payroll accounting Explore opportunities to apply AI and advanced analytics to improve efficiency accuracy and compliance in financial processes Documentation System Management Maintain up-to-date process documentation and standard operating procedures Support new system implementations by participating in UAT for accounting processes Do you have the right ingredients Requirements CA CPA CMA - 3 to 4 years or semi-qualified or 5 years of relevant accounting experience Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities in a rapid-paced environment High degree of accuracy attention to detail and confidentiality Team player with excellent verbal and written communication skills Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets Knowledge of general accounting principles US GAAP Experience with cloud-based ERP financial systems NetSuite ZIP Floqast etc Strong problem-solving skills and work ethic LEAN -
