This role requires deep technical knowledge of both VMware virtualization and Windows server administration AWS Migration along with strong security practices Responsibilities include troubleshooting performance optimization security implementation and providing technical leadership within the SOC environment Key Responsibilities VMware Expertise Providing in-depth knowledge and support for VMware vSphere ESXi vCenter and related technologies Windows Server Administration Managing and troubleshooting Windows Server environments including Active Directory DNS DHCP Group Policy etc Security Focus Implementing and maintaining security best practices for virtualized environments including vulnerability management access control and incident response Network Troubleshooting Diagnosing and resolving network issues related to VMware and Windows infrastructure Performance Optimization Monitoring and optimizing the performance of VMware and Windows systems to ensure productive resource utilization Incident Response Responding to security incidents conducting root cause analysis and implementing remediation steps Technical Leadership Providing guidance and support to other SOC team members on VMware and Windows-related issues Documentation Creating and maintaining documentation for systems processes and procedures related to VMware and Windows within the SOC Collaboration Working with other teams such as network security and application teams to ensure the overall security and stability of the environment Migration Strategy and Planning Defining migration scope approach and timelines Developing detailed migration plans including assessment of existing VMware and Windows environments target AWS architecture design and cutover strategies Proven experience in migrating workloads to AWS including hands-on experience with AWS services like EC2 S3 VPC and migration tools Skills and Qualifications VMware vSphere ESXi vCenter In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with VMware virtualization technologies Windows Server Administration Strong experience in managing and troubleshooting Windows Server environments Networking Fundamentals Understanding of networking concepts protocols and troubleshooting Security Best Practices Knowledge of security principles threat modeling and vulnerability management Incident Response Experience in responding to security incidents conducting investigations and implementing remediation steps Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Communication and Collaboration Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences Scripting Automation Optional Experience with scripting languages e g PowerShell Python for automation of tasks In the context of a Security Operations Center SOC this role would focus on Monitoring and Alerting Implementing and maintaining monitoring systems to detect security threats and anomalies within the VMware and Windows environments Threat Detection and Analysis Investigating security alerts and conducting threat analysis to identify malicious activity Incident Response Responding to security incidents containing threats and restoring systems to normal operations Vulnerability Management Identifying and mitigating vulnerabilities in VMware Windows and Linux systems Security Audits Conducting regular security audits to ensure compliance with security policies and standards Qualifications BE Btech Range of Year Experience-Min Year 5 Range of Year Experience-Max Year 7
