Job Title Raw Material Procurement Head Location Your Location e g Raipur Chhattisgarh Department Procurement Supply Chain Reporting To Director General Manager - Operations Plant Head Experience Required 10-20 years in raw material procurement preferably in steel or manufacturing industries Qualification B E B Tech MBA in Supply Chain Materials Management Any relevant field Job Summary The Raw Material Procurement Head is responsible for strategic sourcing procurement planning vendor management and cost-effective purchasing of key raw materials e g iron ore coal ferro alloys scrap dolomite etc for smooth and uninterrupted plant operations Key Responsibilities Develop and implement procurement strategies for key raw materials Build and maintain relationships with key suppliers and vendors across India and abroad Ensure timely procurement of quality raw materials at competitive prices Negotiate terms pricing and delivery schedules with vendors Monitor and analyze market trends and commodity pricing Plan monthly quarterly and annual raw material requirements in coordination with production planning Maintain adequate inventory levels while avoiding overstocking Ensure compliance with all legal commercial and quality standards Manage import documentation and customs clearance if applicable Evaluate supplier performance and maintain a qualified vendor database Lead and guide the procurement team across units or plants Coordinate with finance logistics and operations for smooth procurement cycle Skills Competencies Required Robust knowledge of raw materials used in the industry e g iron coal coke ferro alloys scrap Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills Deep understanding of logistics warehousing and transportation Proficiency in ERP SAP-based procurement systems Strong analytical and market research skills Ability to handle multi-location procurement Strategic thinking and leadership skills Sound knowledge of import export procedures if applicable
