A commercial technician installs, maintains, and repairs equipment in commercial facilities (HVAC/R, electrical, or general maintenance) to ensure continuous, efficient operations. They troubleshoot, perform preventive maintenance, follow safety protocols , and document repairs. Robust technical knowledge, problem-solving skills, and, often, a high school diploma with relevant experience or certification are required.

Key Responsibilities

- Preventive Maintenance: Performing regular, scheduled maintenance on HVAC systems, refrigeration units, plumbing, and electrical systems to prevent failures.
- Troubleshooting and Repair: Diagnosing faults in systems, repairing or replacing faulty components, and testing equipment to ensure proper operation.
- System Upgrades: Installing new machinery, upgrading existing systems, and calibrating equipment.
- Documentation and Reporting: Completing maintenance logs, service reports, and safety reports detailing work done.
- Safety Compliance: Adhering to all OSHA standards and safety protocols.
- Inventory Management: Ordering and sourcing replacement parts and managing tools.
