Position Title: Assistant Vice President – Risk & Finance

Reporting To: Chief Finance and Risk Officer

Department: Finance & Risk

Location: Mumbai (Full time – On roll Position)

Role Overview

Assistant Vice President– Risk will be responsible for strengthening, overseeing and ensure continuous improvement of the Company’s Risk Management function, practices/policies and Framework, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements, internal governance standards, and business objectives. The role will support the Company and Chief Finance and Risk Officer in risk identification, mitigation, monitoring across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

1. Risk Framework & Governance

· Work in alignment with the Company’s Risk Management Framework and governance structure.

· Support the development, enhancement, and periodic review of risk policies and procedures.

· Strengthen risk governance mechanisms, including oversight, escalation matrices, and review protocols.

· Ensure risk practices are aligned with regulatory expectations applicable to the organization.

2. Enterprise Risk Management (ERM)

· Design and implement risk assessment methodologies covering:

o Operational risks

o Financial risks

· Maintain and update enterprise risk registers.

o Technology and cybersecurity risks

o Strategic and business risks

3. Risk Mitigation & Internal Controls

· Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to address identified vulnerabilities.

· Strengthen internal control mechanisms across departments.





· Conduct control testing and periodic effectiveness reviews.

· Recommend process improvements to minimize risk exposure.

4. Policy Formulation & Implementation

· Draft, review, and update risk-related policies and SOPs.

· Ensure proper implementation and operationalization of approved policies.

· Monitor adherence and recommend corrective actions for deviations.

5. KRIs & Monitoring Mechanisms

· Design and implement Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) across key risk areas.

· Establish structured compliance monitoring mechanisms.

· Track risk metrics and early warning signals.

· Develop dashboards and MIS reports for management review.

6. Risk Reporting & Management Support

· Support the Chief Finance and Risk Officer in preparing risk reports for senior management and Board-level discussions (as applicable).

· Maintain structured risk reporting formats and mitigation tracking frameworks.

· Additionally, the role will support the Finance & Accounts team on a need basis, leveraging finance & Accounting acumen for reviews, reconciliations, and process improvements.

· Work as convener of Product approval committee.

Qualification & ExperienceEducational Qualification:





· Postgraduate –CA/MBA (Finance), FRM (Preferred)

· Additional Qualification in compliance will be an added advantage.

Experience:

· Minimum 8-10 years of experience in risk management specially in Operational Risk Management preferably within NBFCs, Banks or Fintech organizations.

· Basic working experience in financial accounting, reconciliations, and understanding of financial statements.

Key Competencies:

· Understanding of risk frameworks and governance structures

· Ability to work cross-functionally and influence stakeholders

· Strong documentation, Eye to detail and reporting skills

· High level of integrity and professional judgment

· Preferable financial and accounting knowledge.

· Exposure to risk management / GRC tools (preferred).
