Job description:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Librarian to manage and maintain our library’s collection, assist users in locating information, and promote literacy and learning. The ideal candidate will be passionate about education and information management and have excellent organisational and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities:

- Organise and maintain the library’s collection of books, periodicals, digital media, and other resources.
- Assist library users in locating and accessing materials and information.
- Manage library systems, including circulation, acquisitions, and classification.
- Develop and implement programs that promote reading, research, and information literacy.
- Maintain an orderly, welcoming, and user-friendly environment.
- Coordinate with teachers/instructors to support curriculum needs.




- Stay current with developments in library science and integrate new technologies as appropriate.
- Supervise library staff, volunteers, or student assistants.
- Ensure compliance with copyright laws and institutional policies.
- Prepare reports, budgets, and annual inventory as needed.

Qualifications

- Proven experience as a Librarian or in a similar role is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of library classification systems, cataloguing, and library databases.
- Proficiency in library management software and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent communication, organizational, research, and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and maintain accurate records.
