Design Engineer
Hybrid Position Mumbai
Full-Time Starting Immediately

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
-Design and Development: Lead end-to-end development of river plastic interception technologies, from
concept and prototyping through fabrication, field deployment, and iterative improvement.
- Set engineering standards: Create structural calculation reports and engineering analysis studies, establishing
and enforcing standards for production, durability, and cost-efficiency.
- Mentor and lead: Provide technical leadership to project managers and operational team, reviewing designs,
calculations, and drawings, and building team capability over time.
-Standardize documentation: Develop 3D CAD models, engineering drawings, and technical documentation
used for production, installation, and maintenance across all sites.
-Own quality control: Design and enforce QC inspection protocols during manufacturing, fabrication, and
installation across multiple operational sites.
-In office leadership: Supervise the local teams in carrying out installations and deployment of our technology
in rivers and drains across the country.
-Scout innovation: Conduct market and technology research to benchmark emerging solutions, materials, and
components against current designs.
MUST-HAVE QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
¢ 5+ years of experience in design engineering, product development,



or manufacturing, ideally in a hands-on,
field-deployed hardware environment.
¢ Demonstrated track record of owning design projects end-to-end from concept through structural
validation to field deployment.
¢ Strong, practical understanding of manufacturing processes, fabrication methods, and structural/mechanical
engineering calculations.
¢ Proficiency with 3D CAD and simulation tools such as SolidWorks, Fusion, Solid-Edge, or equivalent.
¢ Experience mentoring or leading technical teams.
¢ Fluent in Marathi. Hindi and English;
¢ Willingness to travel frequently within India to support on-site deployments and operational teams.
NICE-TO-HAVE SKILLS
¢ Experience in social enterprises, environmental technology, or rugged, low-tech field infrastructure.
¢ Experience in water, marine, or river systems engineering.
