Position Summary

The Art & Craft Teacher is responsible for developing creativity, imagination, fine motor skills, and aesthetic sense among students from Classes I to X. The role focuses on delivering structured art education, craft-based learning, and creative expression activities that encourage originality, innovation, and appreciation of visual arts.

The ideal candidate should be passionate about visual arts, skilled in multiple art forms and craft techniques, and capable of guiding students through creative projects, exhibitions, and school events.

Key Responsibilities

1. Art & Craft Instruction

- Teach Art & Craft to students from Classes I to X based on age-appropriate skill levels.
- Introduce basic drawing, coloring, painting, sketching, and craft techniques for primary classes.
- Develop advanced skills in shading, perspective drawing, painting styles, and creative design for secondary classes.
- Encourage originality, imagination, and self-expression through visual arts.
- Teach use of different art materials such as crayons, watercolors, poster colors, clay, and craft tools.

2. Lesson Planning & Curriculum Design

- Prepare structured lesson plans aligned with CBSE curriculum and school academic calendar.
- Design progressive art curriculum covering drawing, painting, craft, and creative projects.
- Include step-by-step art activities suitable for different age groups.
- Adapt teaching methods based on student ability and creativity levels.
- Ensure skill development from basic to advanced artistic techniques.

3. Creative Skill Development

- Develop students imagination, creativity, and artistic expression.
- Improve fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and visual thinking.
- Encourage experimentation with colors, textures, and materials.
- Build appreciation for Indian and global art forms.
- Promote confidence in expressing ideas through visual media.

4. Craft & Project-Based Learning

- Conduct craft activities using paper, cardboard, clay, fabric, and recyclable materials.
- Guide students in model-making, origami, collage, and decorative crafts.
- Encourage eco-friendly and innovative art projects.
- Assign creative projects that integrate learning with artistic expression.
- Support students in preparing portfolios and exhibition work.

5. Classroom Management & Engagement

- Maintain a creative, organized,



and inspiring classroom workplace.
- Ensure proper handling and usage of art materials and tools.
- Encourage participation and inclusivity in all art activities.
- Promote discipline while allowing freedom of creative expression.
- Foster curiosity and enthusiasm for visual arts.

6. Art Exhibitions & School Events

- Organize art exhibitions and displays for school events and Annual Day.
- Prepare students’ artwork for competitions and inter-school events.
- Decorate school premises for festivals, celebrations, and functions.
- Support thematic art projects aligned with school programs.
- Guide students in presenting their work confidently.

7. Student Development & Assessment

- Evaluate student performance based on creativity, effort, technique, and participation.
- Maintain records of student progress and artwork portfolios.
- Provide constructive feedback for artistic improvement.
- Identify and nurture talented students for advanced art training.
- Encourage participation in art competitions and exhibitions.

8. Co-Curricular Integration

- Integrate art with other subjects such as Science, Social Studies, and Languages.
- Support visual learning through charts, diagrams, and illustrations.
- Collaborate with teachers for interdisciplinary projects.
- Promote creativity across academic learning areas.
- Contribute to school cultural and thematic events.

9. Parent Communication & Engagement

- Communicate student progress and creativity development to parents.
- Encourage parental involvement in creative activities at home.
- Share feedback on artistic strengths and improvement areas.
- Maintain positive and professional communication with parents.
- Guide parents on supporting creativity development.

10. Technology Integration

- Use digital tools and software for art learning where applicable.
- Introduce students to basic digital drawing and design concepts.
- Use multimedia resources to explore art styles and techniques.
- Support blended learning approaches in visual arts education.




- Enhance creativity through visual presentations and inspiration.

11. Administrative Responsibilities

- Maintain attendance records and lesson plans.
- Prepare art materials, worksheets, and project guidelines.
- Manage art supplies and classroom inventory.
- Participate in staff meetings and co-curricular planning sessions.
- Coordinate with school management for exhibitions and events.

Required Qualifications

Educational Qualification

- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Fine Arts / Visual Arts / Applied Arts (mandatory).
- Certification in Art & Craft training will be an added advantage.

Experience

- Minimum 2–5 years of experience in teaching Art & Craft in schools preferred.
- Experience in organizing exhibitions and student art projects.
- Freshers with strong artistic skills and teaching aptitude may be considered.
