A Unix Administrator is responsible for installing, configuring, maintaining, and supporting Unix/Linux operating systems and related infrastructure. The role ensures system stability, security, and performance while supporting business applications and users.
Technical Skills:
- Strong expertise in Unix/Linux administration (RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu preferred)
- Solid understanding of OS internals, file systems, and process management
- Solid scripting skills (Bash; Python is a plus)
- Experience with automation tools (Ansible/Puppet/Chef)
- Familiarity with virtualization (VMware, KVM) and cloud platforms
- Knowledge of networking (TCP/IP, DNS, SSH, firewalls)
- Experience with monitoring tools and log analysis
