Job Description Legal Associate

Position : Legal Associate / Legal Management Trainee

Department : Legal

Location : K12, Corporate Office, Bengaluru

Reporting To Senior Manager Legal

About the Role

We are looking for a proactive, detail-oriented, and motivated legal professional to join our Legal Department. The selected candidate will support the legal team in contract management, litigation support, legal compliance, legal repository management, and day-to-day legal advisory functions across the organization.

Candidates with up to 1 year of post-qualification experience are encouraged to apply.

Note : Fresh law graduates selected for the role may be engaged as Legal Management Trainees for an initial period of 6 months. Based on satisfactory performance, they may be confirmed as Legal Associates.

Key Responsibilities

Contract Management

- Draft, review, vet and negotiate commercial agreements, including:
- Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs)
- Service Agreements
- Master Service Agreements (MSAs)
- Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs)
- Leave & License Agreements
- Vendor and Consultancy Agreements
- Addendums, Amendments and other commercial documents
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to understand business requirements and provide legal support.
- Ensure contracts comply with applicable laws and company policies.
- Maintain contract templates and assist in standardization initiatives.

Litigation Management

- Coordinate with external advocates on ongoing litigation, arbitration, consumer matters, labour disputes, and regulatory proceedings.
- Maintain litigation trackers and case status reports.
- Assist in preparing case briefs, evidence compilation, chronologies, notices, replies, and legal correspondence.
- Track hearing dates, filings, and statutory deadlines.

Litigation Management & Legal Repository

- Assist in maintaining the organization's litigation management system and legal repository.
- Update case records, hearing dates,



case status, and legal documents on the litigation management platform.
- Coordinate with external advocates to obtain case updates, pleadings, court orders, and other case-related documents.
- Maintain organized digital and physical records of litigation files, notices, agreements, and legal correspondence.
- Track litigation timelines, hearing schedules, statutory deadlines, and follow up with stakeholders for timely action.
- Assist in preparing litigation reports, case summaries, and management updates.
- Ensure proper indexing, filing, and retrieval of legal documents to maintain an accurate and accessible legal repository.

Legal Advisory & Research

- Conduct legal research on statutes, case laws, regulations, and judicial precedents.
- Prepare legal opinions, internal notes, presentations, and summaries.
- Support various business teams by providing timely legal inputs.

Compliance Support

- Assist in monitoring statutory and regulatory compliances.
- Coordinate with various departments for legal documentation.
- Support implementation of internal legal policies and SOPs.

Miscellaneous

- Draft legal notices, replies, affidavits, undertakings, declarations, and other legal documents.
- Assist in due diligence exercises.
- Support special legal projects assigned by the department.
- Perform any other legal or administrative responsibilities assigned by the reporting manager.

Eligibility

Education

- LL.B. (3-year or 5-year course) from a recognized university.
- Enrollment with the Bar Council will be an added advantage.

Experience





- Fresh graduates may apply as Legal Management Trainees.
- Candidates with 01 year of relevant legal experience may be considered for the position of Legal Associate, depending on experience and assessment.

- Basic knowledge of corporate laws and legal compliance.
- Excellent legal research abilities.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Familiarity with legal databases and CLM software is an advantage.

- Training Period: 6 Months
