About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Linux Administrator with 3-4 years of hands-on experience in Linux server administration, cloud platforms, web hosting, and database management.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing Linux infrastructure, cloud environments, hosting platforms, backups, security, and production support while ensuring high availability, performance, and security of enterprise systems.

Key Responsibilities

Linux Server Administration

- Install, configure, administer, maintain, and troubleshoot Linux servers including Ubuntu, Alma Linux, Rocky Linux, and Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).
- Perform server provisioning, upgrades, patch management, kernel updates, and lifecycle management.
- Monitor server health, CPU, memory, storage, and system performance to ensure optimal availability.

Web Hosting Web Services

- Install, configure, and manage cPanel/WHM and Plesk hosting environments.
- Configure and maintain Apache, Nginx, PHP, FTP, DNS, and Mail services.
- Troubleshoot web hosting, email, DNS, SSL, and application-related issues.

Cloud Infrastructure

- Deploy, administer, and manage Linux servers on Akamai Linode Cloud, Amazon Web Services (AWS), and Microsoft Azure.
- Configure and manage cloud resources including:
- Virtual Machines
- Virtual Networks
- Storage
- Security Groups
- Load Balancers
- Snapshots
- Backup Services

Database Administration

- Install, configure, optimize, and maintain MySQL/MariaDB databases.
- Perform database backup, restoration, replication, performance tuning, and optimization.
- Troubleshoot database performance and availability issues.

Backup Disaster Recovery

- Configure and manage enterprise backup solutions including:
- Acronis
- AWS Backup
- Azure Backup
- Similar enterprise backup platforms

- Perform backup validation and restoration testing.
- Participate in disaster recovery planning and execution.

Security Administration

- Implement Linux security hardening based on industry best practices.
- Configure and manage:




- Firewalls (iptables, firewall, UFW)
- SSH Security
- SSL Certificates
- Fail2Ban
- Malware Detection and Protection

- Ensure servers comply with security standards and organizational policies.

Monitoring Performance Management

- Monitor infrastructure availability and performance.
- Identify performance bottlenecks and optimize server resources.
- Perform proactive health checks and preventive maintenance.

Troubleshooting Incident Management

- Diagnose and resolve server, application, network, database, mail, and DNS-related incidents.
- Coordinate with cloud providers, application teams, and vendors for issue resolution.
- Participate in production support, on-call rotations, and incident management activities.

Automation Documentation

- Automate routine administration tasks using Shell scripting.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, migration plans, and knowledge base articles.
- Document system configurations, changes, and operational procedures.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 3-4 years of hands-on experience in Linux System Administration.
- Experience managing production Linux environments.
- Experience working with public cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Akamai Linode.
- Good understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, SMTP, SSH).
- Experience in backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures.

Nice to Have

- Experience managing multi-tenant web hosting environments.
- Experience administering Linux servers in production.
- Experience migrating workloads between on-premises and cloud platforms.
- Knowledge of High Availability (HA), Load Balancing, Clustering, and Disaster Recovery.
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, and Loki.
- Familiarity with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, KVM).
- Basic knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.
- Linux certifications such as RHCSA, RHCE, LPIC, or CompTIA Linux+ are an added advantage.
