Role Overview
The Electrical Lead will be responsible for end-to-end execution, supervision, and commissioning of electrical works in wind power projects including 33kV collector systems, EHV substations, Pooling Substation (PSS), Unit Substation (USS), and statutory compliance. The role demands strong technical knowledge, execution capability, and strict adherence to EHS and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Electrical Execution & Installation
- Supervision of 33kV internal collector system (cable laying, termination, testing).
- Execution of EHV Substation (132kV/220kV or above) works.
- Installation & commissioning of:
- Power Transformers
- CT/PT
- Circuit Breakers
- Isolators
- RMU
- Protection Panels
- SCADA & Control Systems
2. Substation Management
- Execution and commissioning of:
- PSS (Pooling Substation)
- USS (Unit Substation)
- Coordination for grid connectivity approvals.
- Ensuring protection coordination and relay settings.
- Managing switchyard erection and yard equipment alignment.
3. Testing & Commissioning
- Pre-commissioning checks of 33kV and EHV systems.
- Cable IR, HV, and VLF testing.
- Transformer testing (Ratio, Vector group, IR, BDV).
- Protection relay testing and synchronization procedures.
- Coordination with SLDC/DISCOM for grid charging.
4. EHS & Compliance
- Ensure strict adherence to EHS policies and statutory regulations.
- Conduct electrical safety audits and risk assessments.
- Ensure compliance with:
- CEA Regulations
- Grid Code
- Electrical Inspector approvals
- Implement Lockout-Tagout (LOTO) and permit-to-work systems.
5. Planning & Coordination
- Project planning as per erection schedule.
- Vendor and contractor coordination.
- Monitoring BOQ quantities and material reconciliation.
- Ensuring execution within timeline and budget.
