Business Rules Analyst

Role Overview

The Rules Analyst supports the configuration, testing, and validation of business rules within the Livegage platform. This role is responsible for translating business and regulatory requirements into structured rule logic, documenting configurations, and ensuring accuracy and traceability across the rule lifecycle. The Rules Analyst works closely with the Rules Manager, Product Owner, and IT to ensure timely and accurate rule delivery.

Key Responsibilities

- Analyze business and regulatory requirements to define rule logic and decision criteria.
- Draft and maintain rule specifications, including inputs, conditions, and expected outputs.
- Collaborate with the Rules Manager to configure and test rules in the Livegage platform.
- Perform data validation and exception analysis to ensure rule accuracy.
- Document rule logic, test cases, and outcomes for audit and traceability.
- Support sprint planning by estimating effort and identifying dependencies.
- Participate in agile ceremonies and update task progress in Azure Boards.
- Identify opportunities for rule optimization and automation including writing complex queries; developing and troubleshooting joins, subqueries, Common Table Expressions (CTEs), window functions, aggregates, and CASE statements; performing data validation, reconciliation, root-cause analysis, and performance optimization; and independently analyzing data outputs to validate business rules and reporting results

Required Skills & Competencies

- Attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
- Ability to translate complex requirements into structured logic.
- Familiarity with agile delivery and backlog tools.
- Advanced SQL experience, including complex querying, joins, subqueries, CTEs, window functions, data profiling, data reconciliation, root-cause analysis, validation testing, and performance tuning.
- SQL Server,



T-SQL, JOINs, CTEs, Window Functions, Stored Procedures, Views, CASE Statements, Aggregations, Data Validation, Data Reconciliation, Data Profiling, ETL, Root-Cause Analysis, Query Optimization, Performance Tuning, Data Quality, Reporting, Troubleshooting
- Mortgage servicing experience, including reporting, data analysis, or operational performance reporting.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with Livegage or similar rules platforms.
- Background in compliance, risk, or operational analytics.
- Agile certification or hands-on agile team experience.
- Knowledge of MSP ICE application a plus.
