The Community Manager is a full-time, on-site role based at Madras Engineering College in Chennai. This role is responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with students, alumni, faculty, and external partners, while fostering a vibrant campus community. Day-to-day tasks include planning and executing events, managing online and offline communities, coordinating student clubs and activities, and moderating discussions on institutional communication channels. The Community Manager will create and share engaging content, gather feedback from stakeholders, support outreach initiatives, and collaborate with academic and administrative teams to enhance the overall campus experience. The role also involves tracking community engagement metrics and recommending improvements to strengthen participation and belonging.

Qualifications

- Community engagement and stakeholder management skills, with experience nurturing student or professional communities.
- Robust communication and interpersonal skills,



including clear writing and confident public speaking.
- Ability to plan and coordinate events and activities, with organizational and time-management skills.
- Experience managing social media or online communities, with familiarity in basic digital tools and platforms.
- Problem-solving abilities and conflict-resolution skills, with a collaborative and service-oriented mindset.
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Social Sciences, Education, or a related field; relevant experience in academic or youth-focused environments is an advantage.
- Comfort working on-site in a fast-paced campus setting in Chennai, with flexibility to support events and activities as needed.
- Understanding of or interest in technology and engineering disciplines such as IT, Computer Science, or Data Science is beneficial.
