Requirement for Packaging Material Purchase Manager - From Food Manufacturing CompaniesPurchase Manager - Packaging Category Buyer - ManagerPosition Overview:The Packaging Category Buyer is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and managing the procurement of all packaging materials (primary, secondary, and tertiary) required for the business. This role ensures cost-effective, sustainable, and innovative packaging solutions while maintaining supplier quality, compliance, and reliability. The role collaborates closely with supply chain, production, R&D;, and marketing teams to support business needs and deliver value.Key Responsibilities:Develop and implement procurement strategies for packaging materialsConduct spend analysis and identify opportunities for cost reduction, process improvement, and value engineering.Identify, evaluate, and qualify suppliers based on quality, cost, capacity, sustainability, and compliance.Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to secure favourable agreements.Benchmark costs and ensure competitiveness in the market.Build and maintain solid relationships with key packaging suppliers.Monitor supplier performance (quality, delivery, service, innovation).Drive supplier development and risk management initiatives.Partner with R&D;, Marketing,



and Operations to support new product development (NPD) and packaging innovation projects.Coordinate with logistics and planning for timely availability of materials.Ensure compliance with packaging regulations, food safety standards, and legal requirements.Track, analyze, and report savings, supplier performance, and category KPIs.Implement cost reduction initiatives without compromising quality or functionality.Qualifications & Skills:Bachelor’s degree in related field.4–8 years of procurement experience, with at least 2–3 years in packaging procurement/category management.Strong negotiation and contract management skills.Good knowledge of packaging materials, technologies, and suppliers.Familiarity with sustainability trends in packaging.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.Proficiency in ERP systems and MS Office.Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and interpersonal skills.Key Competencies:Strategic sourcing mindsetCost consciousness & value engineering orientationStrong supplier management & partnership skillsInnovation-driven with sustainability focusAbility to work cross-functionally and manage multiple prioritiesInterested candidates can share [email protected]
