Position Title: Assistant Manager – Quality

Location: Hootagalli Industrial Area, Mysore.

Reports To: Quality Manager / Plant Manager

Job Summary:
n
The Assistant Manager - Quality is responsible for ensuring that the quality standards in automobile manufacturing are maintained and improved. This position works closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the design, manufacturing processes, and final product meet or exceed quality standards. The role will involve overseeing quality control processes, audits, continuous improvement initiatives, and managing a team of quality inspectors.

Key Responsibilities:

- Quality Assurance:
n

- Ensure all production processes meet the required quality standards.
n
- Oversee the inspection of raw materials, parts, and finished products.
n
- Develop and implement quality control plans, processes, and procedures.
n
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and company policies.
n

- Process Improvement:
n
nn
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective action initiatives for quality issues.
n
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for quality and production efficiency.
n
- Propose and implement improvements to optimize production processes and reduce defects.
n
- Coordinate with engineering and production teams to resolve quality-related challenges.

- Team Leadership and Development:

- Supervise and mentor a team of quality inspectors and technicians.
n
- Provide training on quality standards, inspection techniques, and new technologies.
n
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback for skill development.

- Documentation and Reporting:

- Prepare and maintain detailed reports on product quality and performance.
n
- Conduct internal audits and prepare for external quality audits.
n
- Ensure accurate documentation of quality processes, non-conformances, and corrective actions.

- Customer and Supplier Interaction:

- Collaborate with suppliers to ensure material and component quality.
n
- Address customer complaints and warranty issues related to product quality.
n
- Develop and maintain relationships with customers to understand their quality expectations.
n

- Compliance and Standards:

- Ensure that all manufacturing processes adhere to ISO 9001 and other relevant industry certifications and standards.
n
- Stay updated on industry trends and new quality regulations.
n
- Ensure product compliance with safety standards and environmental regulations.
n

Skills and Qualifications:
n
n
- Educational Qualifications:
n
- Diploma / Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automobile Engineering or a related field.
n
- Experience:
n
- 8-10 years of experience in quality assurance or quality control in the automobile manufacturing industry.
n
- Experience with quality systems, audits, and troubleshooting production issues.
n
n
n
n
- Skills:
n
- Solid knowledge of quality tools (e.g., FMEA, SPC, Root Cause Analysis, Control Plans).
n
- Proficient in using quality inspection equipment and software (e.g., CMM, Statistical Process Control).
n
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
n
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
n
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
n
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes in the automobile industry (e.g., stamping, welding, assembly, testing).

Working Conditions:

- Full-time position, typically Monday through Friday, potential overtime depending on requirements.

- Occasional travel may be required for supplier audits or customer meetings.

Compensation
n
n
- Salary: As per industry standards (Rs. 40,000 to Rs. 50,000)
n
