Position: Primary Teacher (Environmental Studies)Location: DLF Phase 1, Gurgaon & Sarjapura Bangalore
Kunskapsskolan International School is seeking a passionate, enthusiastic, and child-centred Primary Teacher (Environmental Studies) to teach Grades 3–5 following the CBSE curriculum. The ideal candidate will create engaging, inquiry-driven learning experiences that help students understand the relationship between themselves and the world around them while nurturing environmental awareness, scientific thinking, and responsible citizenship.
Key ResponsibilitiesTeaching & Learning
- Plan and deliver engaging EVS lessons aligned with the CBSE curriculum and school learning outcomes.
- Foster curiosity through activity-based, experiential, and inquiry-led learning.
- Integrate concepts from science, social studies, health, and environmental awareness to provide meaningful learning experiences.
- Encourage observation, investigation, exploration, and critical thinking through hands-on activities and real-life connections.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
- Integrate technology and digital learning tools into classroom teaching where appropriate.
Curriculum Planning
- Prepare annual plans, unit plans, lesson plans, and learning resources in line with CBSE guidelines.
- Design engaging classroom activities, projects, field-based learning experiences, and experiments.
- Collaborate with colleagues to integrate cross-curricular learning opportunities.
- Support the school's personalized learning model through differentiated instruction and student goal setting.
Assessment & Student Progress
- Conduct formative and summative assessments aligned with curriculum objectives.
- Maintain accurate records of student achievement, observations, and progress.
- Provide timely, constructive feedback to students and parents.
- Identify learning gaps and implement intervention or enrichment strategies where required.
Classroom Environment
- Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning setting.
- Promote positive classroom behaviour and foster mutual respect among students.
- Encourage collaboration, creativity, communication, and independent learning.
- Display student work and maintain an engaging classroom environment.
Student Development
- Promote environmental responsibility, empathy, teamwork, and social awareness.
- Encourage participation in nature walks, sustainability initiatives, school exhibitions, and project-based learning.
- Support the holistic development and wellbeing of every child.
- Act as a class teacher, if assigned, and fulfil associated pastoral responsibilities.
Collaboration & Professional Development
- Work collaboratively with fellow teachers and school leaders to enhance curriculum delivery.
- Participate actively in school meetings, curriculum planning sessions, CBSE mandatory training programmes, workshops, and in-house professional development.
- Stay updated with current educational practices and innovative teaching methodologies.
- Contribute to school initiatives, celebrations, and co-curricular programmes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Science, Environmental Science, Education, or a related field.
- Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) is mandatory.
- Minimum 2–5 years of teaching experience as a Primary Teacher in a CBSE school.
- Strong understanding of the CBSE EVS curriculum for primary grades.
