Bench High-Speed Interface Validation Engineer

Role Overview
We are looking for a Bench High-Speed Interface Validation Engineer with hands-on experience in silicon validation, characterization, and high-speed interface testing. The role involves developing validation platforms, performing first silicon bring-up, board-level debugging, protocol compliance testing, and automation for next-generation semiconductor devices. The engineer will work closely with Design, Signal Integrity, PCB, Firmware, Product Engineering, and Manufacturing teams throughout the product development lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, integrate, and debug bench validation setups for high-speed semiconductor interface devices.
- Perform first silicon bring-up, engineering validation, functional verification, and characterization.
- Design, review, and debug evaluation boards, interface boards, adapter boards, daughter cards, interposers, breakout boards, and custom validation fixtures.
- Perform board bring-up, power sequencing validation, schematic review, PCB review, and board-level debugging.
- Develop validation platforms considering controlled impedance routing, differential pair routing, impedance matching, insertion loss, return loss, skew matching, and signal integrity.
- Validate and characterize interfaces including PCIe, USB, Ethernet, DDR/LPDDR, MIPI, HDMI, DisplayPort, SATA, UFS, eMMC, SD/SDIO, CXL, UCIe, SerDes, XAUI, and JESD204B/C.
- Execute protocol compliance, interoperability, BER testing, jitter analysis, eye diagram measurements, equalization tuning,
and link training validation.
- Capture and analyze waveforms, timing diagrams, protocol transactions, and high-speed signal behavior using laboratory instruments.
- Develop automation scripts for instrument control, data acquisition, regression testing, characterization, and reporting.
- Debug hardware, firmware, software, silicon, and board-level issues while supporting NPI, Engineering Validation (EV), Reliability, Product Qualification, and Customer Validation activities.
- Prepare validation procedures, compliance reports, characterization reports, and technical documentation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to resolve validation and product performance issues.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in:
- Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE)
- Electrical & Electronics Engineering (EEE)
- Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering (EIE)
- Instrumentation Engineering
- Computer Engineering
- Embedded Systems
- VLSI Design
- Microelectronics
- Semiconductor Technology
- Or a related engineering discipline
- 3 10 years of experience in semiconductor bench validation, characterization, or high-speed interface validation.
- Robust understanding of board-level validation and silicon bring-up activities.
