Job Description: A Purchase Officer for raw materials in a sinter plant manages the end-to-end procurement of essential materials like iron ore fines, coke breeze, and fluxes. They ensure continuous, cost-effective supply while maintaining strict quality standards to prevent operational downtime in the steel manufacturing process. [1, 2, 3, 4] Key Responsibilities

- Sourcing & Procurement: Identify and secure reliable vendors for raw materials such as iron ore fines, limestone, coke breeze, and other fluxes.
- Inventory Control: Monitor stock levels daily to prevent production stoppages and maintain a balanced inventory.
- Vendor Management: Negotiate pricing, delivery terms, and contract conditions, while regularly evaluating supplier performance.
- Cross-Functional Coordination: Collaborate with the sinter plant operations team, quality control, and logistics to ensure supplied materials meet technical specifications.
- Data & Reporting:



Update purchase orders, invoices, and contracts using ERP systems like SAP MM. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]

Required Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or Supply Chain Management.
- Experience: Minimum 2–5 years of procurement experience in the steel, heavy manufacturing, or sinter plant industry.
- Technical Knowledge: Robust understanding of raw material properties (moisture content, sizing, chemical composition) required for sintering.
- Software: Proficiency in ERP modules, notably SAP MM/SRM.
- Soft Skills: High-level negotiation, analytical, and interpersonal skills
