Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled SQL Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining complex database systems. They will ensure the performance, availability, and security of SQL databases while working closely with other developers and stakeholders to support various applications and projects.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Database Development:

o Design, develop, and maintain SQL databases and database objects (tables, views, indexes, stored procedures, and functions).

o Write complex SQL queries for data extraction, manipulation, and reporting.

2. Performance Tuning:

o Monitor and optimize the performance of SQL databases and queries.

o Analyze and resolve database performance issues, including bottlenecks and deadlocks.

3. Data Integration:

o Develop and implement ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to integrate data from various sources.

o Ensure data integrity and consistency across different systems.

4. Database Security:

o Implement and maintain database security measures, including user roles, permissions, and encryption.

o Monitor and protect databases against unauthorized access and potential security threats.

5. Collaboration and Support:

o Work closely with application developers to design and optimize database structures for current and existing applications.

o Provide support to end-users and other stakeholders for database-related issues and inquiries.

6. Documentation:





o Create and maintain documentation for database designs, processes, and procedures.

o Ensure that database documentation is up-to-date and accessible to relevant team members.

7. Backup and Recovery:

o Implement and manage database backup and recovery strategies.

o Perform regular backups and test restore processes to ensure data availability and integrity.

8. Data Analysis:

o Analyze data requirements and create data models to support business needs.

o Generate ad hoc reports and data analysis as required by the business.

Qualifications:

- Education:

o Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.

- Experience:

o Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as an SQL Developer or in a similar role.

o Experience with database design, development, and administration.

- Skills and Abilities:

o Proficiency in SQL and database management systems (e.g., Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL).

o Strong understanding of database schema design, indexing, and query optimization.

o Experience with ETL tools and data integration processes.

o Familiarity with database security best practices.

o Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

o Strong communication and collaboration skills.

o Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.

Work Environment:

- The SQL Developer will work in an office environment and may occasionally be required to work outside of regular business hours to resolve critical issues or perform maintenance tasks.
