Job Description: A Straightening Operator in a steel manufacturing company operates hydraulic presses or roller machines to correct bends and twists in steel products (bars, tubes, sheets) to meet precise, straightness specifications. They are responsible for setting up machinery, inspecting products with gauges, following technical blueprints, and adhering to strict safety standards. Key Responsibilities

- Machine Operation & Setup: Set up and operate straightening machines (e.g., Eitel press, roller straightener) by adjusting rolls, strokes, or pressures based on material thickness, hardness, and dimensions.
- Inspection & Quality Assurance: Check finished products for straightness using tools like dials, indicators, calipers, and gauges, ensuring they meet tight tolerance specifications.
- Material Handling: Load/unload steel materials onto the machine bed using manual skills or overhead cranes and hoists.
- Machine Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance, such as oiling, cleaning, and replacing worn-out tools or components.
- Documentation: Record production data, material usage, and inspection results,



either on paper or in digital systems.

Required Skills and Qualifications

- Experience: Previous experience as a machine operator in a metalworking or heavy fabrication environment.
- Technical Skills: Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders.
- Mechanical Aptitude: Strong understanding of machinery, tools, and metal behavior (e.g., steel, aluminum).
