Job Description: A 1st Class Mines Manager job involves overall responsibility for safe, efficient, and compliant mine operations, including strategic planning, daily execution (drilling, blasting, extraction), strict adherence to the Mines Act & DGMS rules, managing workforce and equipment (HEMMs), maintaining statutory records, and coordinating with geology, survey, and regulatory bodies for production and safety. Key Responsibilities

- Operations Management: Oversee daily mining activities, production schedules, resource extraction, and dispatch.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to the Mines Act, DGMS guidelines, safety protocols (SEMS), PPE usage, and environmental regulations.
- Planning & Development: Develop and implement short-term/long-term mine plans, including excavation, drilling, blasting, and HEMM deployment.
- Manpower Management: Supervise, train (VT/SOP), and manage miners and contract workers, ensuring safety awareness.
- Statutory Reporting: Maintain accurate records and submit required reports to DGMS, IBM, and other authorities.
- Coordination:



Liaise with geology, survey, mechanical, and electrical departments for seamless operations.
- Equipment Management: Monitor HEMM performance, ensure proper utilization, and manage maintenance.
- Risk Management: Conduct risk assessments, implement corrective actions, and ensure emergency preparedness.

Essential Knowledge & Skills
- Deep understanding of mining laws, regulations (Mines Act, MMR), and DGMS guidelines.
- Expertise in mine planning, design, and execution.
- Solid leadership, supervision, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage complex operations, resources, and budgets.

Required Qualifications (Typical)
- A valid 1st Class Mines Manager Certificate (Coal/Metalliferous).
- A degree in Mining Engineering (often required).
- Significant experience in mine operations.
