Job Description:

An AOD (Argon Oxygen Decarburization) First Hand in steel manufacturing oversees the crucial refining process for specialty steels, focusing on production targets, quality, safety, and team coordination, managing material charging, furnace health, process monitoring, analyzing samples, and ensuring seamless workflow with maintenance/planning teams to achieve precise chemical compositions. Key Responsibilities

- Process Operation: Charge materials, monitor AOD furnace operations, and manage the refining cycle (argon/oxygen blowing) to reduce carbon and impurities.
- Quality Control: Check liquid metal samples, ensure final composition meets specs, and analyze heat cycles for efficiency.
- Coordination: Communicate with CCM (Continuous Casting Machine), maintenance, planning, and other teams for smooth production and breakdown resolution.
- Equipment & Safety:



Maintain vigilance over furnace lining/ladle health, follow SOPs, and ensure strict safety protocols are followed.
- Performance: Conduct root cause analysis, optimize production, reduce erosion, and submit shift reports.

Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Diploma or B.E./B.Tech in Metallurgy is often preferred.
- Experience: Relevant experience in AOD operations, melting, or steel manufacturing.
- Skills: Robust process knowledge (melting, AOD), safety awareness, coordination, problem-solving, and reporting.
- Attributes: Attentive, vigilant, able to work shifts, and accept new challenges.
