Job Description: A Mechanical Fitter in a steel manufacturing company installs, maintains, and repairs heavy industrial machinery (rolling mills, cranes, furnaces) to ensure operational efficiency. They troubleshoot hydraulic/pneumatic systems, perform preventive maintenance, and fabricate parts, working in high-temperature environments. Key skills include reading blueprints, precision measuring, welding, and strict adherence to safety protocols. Key Responsibilities

- Maintenance & Repairs: Perform preventive and breakdown maintenance on heavy machinery like cranes, conveyors, furnaces, and rolling mills.
- Installation & Assembly: Install current machinery and assemble, align, and dismantle mechanical components according to technical drawings.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose malfunctions in hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
- Fabrication & Welding: Perform welding, cutting, and grinding to fabricate or repair structural steel components.
- Precision Work: Use tools like calipers, micrometers, and torque wrenches to ensure accurate, high-tolerance fitting.




- Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety regulations, including lockout/tagout procedures.

Required Skills and Qualifications

- Certification: Diploma or ITI certification in Mechanical Engineering or Fitter trade.
- Experience: Proven experience in heavy industrial settings, preferably steel manufacturing.
- Technical Knowledge: Proficiency in hydraulic/pneumatic systems, welding (ARC/MIG), and technical drawing interpretation.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to work in challenging, high-temperature, and confined spaces.

- Attending toolbox meetings.
- Obtaining work permits and ensuring safety isolation.
- Conducting routine inspections for wear and tear.
- Replacing damaged bearings, seals, or gears.
- Maintaining accurate maintenance records.
