We have an urgent opening for the position of Product Development for a reputed company in Manufacturing Industry (Safety Products) at Kolkata Location.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented Product Development Specialist to join our dynamic Research & Development team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in the design, development, and launch of innovative and high-quality safety shoes for the Indian market. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including design, engineering, manufacturing, and marketing, to ensure the development of safe, comfortable, and durable footwear that meets the evolving needs of our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

Product Conceptualization and Design:

- Conduct thorough market research to identify emerging trends, competitor analysis, and customer needs and preferences.
- Generate innovative product concepts and design ideas, incorporating the latest technologies and materials.
- Develop detailed product specifications and technical drawings.
- Create prototypes and conduct rigorous testing to evaluate performance, comfort, and durability.

Material Selection and Sourcing:

- Research and evaluate a wide range of materials, including leathers, textiles, plastics, and metals, for their suitability in safety footwear applications.
- Source high-quality materials from reliable suppliers, ensuring they meet safety standards and company quality requirements.

Safety Standards and Compliance:

- Stay abreast of all relevant safety standards and regulations (e.g., IS standards, international safety standards) applicable to safety footwear.
- Ensure all product designs and materials comply with safety standards and regulations.




- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to maintain compliance.

Testing and Evaluation:

- Conduct rigorous testing of prototypes and finished products, including laboratory tests and field trials.
- Analyze test data, identify areas for improvement, and implement necessary changes.
- Prepare detailed test reports and documentation.

Collaboration and Communication:

- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including design, engineering, manufacturing, and marketing.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers, customers, and regulatory bodies.
- Present design concepts, test results, and project updates to management.

Project Management:

- Manage product development projects from concept to launch, ensuring timely completion and adherence to budget.
- Track project progress, identify potential roadblocks, and implement corrective actions as needed.

Continuous Improvement:

- Continuously seek ways to improve product design, manufacturing processes, and overall product quality.
- Stay updated on the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices.

Candidates Profile:

- Bachelor's degree in Footwear Design, Industrial Design, or a related field.
- 7-10 years of experience in product development of safety shoes or related footwear.
- Strong understanding of footwear design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
- In-depth knowledge of relevant safety standards and regulations.
- Proficiency in CAD software is a plus.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Results-oriented with a solid drive to achieve goals.
