Role Overview

The Senior Manager – Partnership & Alliances will be responsible for managing and strengthening relationships with CSA's existing donors and strategic partners. The role begins once a donor has been onboarded or a prospective donor has been converted by the CEO. The incumbent will own the donor relationship thereafter, ensuring a high-quality engagement experience, timely delivery of commitments, excellent communication, and long-term partnership development. The role requires a seasoned relationship manager with exceptional stakeholder management skills, solid coordination abilities, and the capability to work across programme, finance, M&E;, and communications teams to ensure all donor commitments are delivered on time and to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities

Donor Relationship Management

 Serve as the primary relationship manager for assigned donors, CSR partners, foundations, trusts, and institutional partners.

 Build trusted, long-term relationships with donor representatives and key stakeholders.

 Develop and execute donor engagement plans to strengthen partnerships and improve

donor retention.

 Ensure regular communication with donors through review meetings, updates, field

visits, and leadership interactions.

 Understand donor priorities and proactively identify opportunities to deepen existing

partnerships.

Donor Onboarding

 Take ownership of donor relationships once initial interest has been established and the

partnership has been confirmed by the CEO.

 Ensure smooth onboarding of new donors, including alignment on deliverables,

reporting schedules, budgets, and governance requirements.

 Coordinate internally to ensure all partnership commitments are understood and

implemented.

Grant & Donor Management

 Manage the complete lifecycle of donor partnerships from onboarding through closure.

 Coordinate with Programme, Communications, M&E;, and Finance teams to ensure

timely submission of proposals (where required), reports, utilisation certificates, impact

updates, and other donor deliverables.

 Review donor communications and reports before submission to ensure quality,

accuracy, and consistency.

 Ensure compliance with donor agreements and reporting timelines.





Budget & Financial Coordination

 Work closely with Finance and Programme teams to understand project budgets and

grant utilisation.

 Review budgets and financial reports prior to donor submission.

 Monitor budget utilisation and flag variances or potential concerns.

 Maintain a basic understanding of project costing and financial reporting to facilitate

donor discussions.

Pipeline & CRM Management

 Maintain an up-to-date donor database and relationship management system.

 Track donor pipeline from converted prospects to active partnerships.

 Monitor renewal opportunities and upcoming grant closures.

 Prepare periodic dashboards and reports on donor status, engagement activities,

reporting schedules, and partnership health.

 Ensure complete documentation of donor interactions and commitments.

Internal Coordination

 Coordinate across Programme, Finance, M&E;, Communications, and Leadership

teams to ensure donor commitments are delivered on time.

 Track internal deliverables and proactively follow up with teams to ensure deadlines are

met.

 Escalate potential risks that may impact donor relationships.

Qualifications :

Bachelors/Master's degree in Management, Marketing, Communications, Commerce, Social

Sciences, Development Studies, or a related discipline.

Experience :

 10–12 years of professional experience in relationship management, key account

management, client servicing, customer success, partnership management,

stakeholder engagement, or programme coordination.

 At least 5 years in Development sector.

 Demonstrated experience managing relationships with senior external stakeholders.

 Experience coordinating multiple internal teams to deliver commitments within agreed

timelines.

 Experience maintaining partner databases, reporting trackers, or CRM systems.

 Experience working with budgets, financial reports, and project expenditure at a

coordination level.
