Functional Consultant (Islamic Banking)

Role Objective

We are looking for a seasoned Functional Consultant with deep expertise in Islamic Banking and hands-on experience with Oracle FLEXCUBE (v14.x). In this role, you will act as the vital bridge between business requirements and technical execution. You will be responsible for diagnosing functional gaps, validating reported bugs, and ensuring that customizations align with both Islamic Sharia principles and technical feasibility.

Key Responsibilities

- Bug Analysis & Validation: Investigate reported bugs within the FLEXCUBE environment, performing root-cause analysis to determine if issues stem from core logic or existing customizations.

- Requirement Translation: Clearly articulate functional requirements and complex business logic to the technical team to ensure fixes and enhancements are accurate.

- Testing & QA: Conduct comprehensive functional testing and validation for resolved issues, ensuring that the system remains stable and compliant.

- Client Collaboration: Work closely with stakeholders to understand existing business processes and provide functional guidance on FLEXCUBE 14.x features.

- Documentation: Maintain detailed functional specifications, test cases, and user manuals for all system modifications.

Technical & Domain Skills





- FLEXCUBE Expertise: Extensive experience with Oracle FLEXCUBE Universal Banking (FCUBS) Version 14.x.

- Islamic Banking Domain: Deep functional knowledge of Islamic Finance products including, but not limited to:

- Murabaha, Ijarah, Mudarabah, Musharakah, and Sukuk.

- Sharia-compliant profit distribution and accounting.

- Systems Knowledge: Familiarity with the interaction between Core Banking modules (CASA, Loans, Deposits) and Islamic modules.

- Analytical Skills: Ability to deconstruct complex system customizations and identify the impact of changes across the banking ecosystem.

Candidate Requirements

- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Banking, IT, or a related field.

- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Functional Consultant in the banking domain.

- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with a proven ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and vice-versa.

- Problem Solving: A proactive approach to troubleshooting and a keen eye for detail.
