Job Description
Job purpose
The Data Analyst will support Private Markets investment operations by delivering accurate, well‑governed data solutions leveraging Performance Systems used for fund and portfolio analytics. Working closely with investment, Risk, Finance, and Data & Analytics teams, the role translates business requirements into trusted data definitions, calculation logic, and quality standards to support fund performance, fund administration, and exposure reporting. The position ensures performance data is reliable, consistent, and decision‑ready.
Key responsibilities
- Leverage hands‑on experience with Performance Systems to support accurate, reliable, and trusted data for investment, risk, and finance reporting.
- Partner with Investment, Risk, and Finance teams to gather and document requirements for Private Market performance, NAV, and exposure reporting.
- Analyze, validate, and reconcile data within Performance Systems, including IRR, MOIC, cash flows, valuations, and benchmark data.
- Partner with Investment, Risk, Finance, and Data & Analytics teams to translate business needs into explicit data requirements and acceptance criteria.
- Define and document data rules, validation checks, quality standards, and completeness thresholds to establish data reliability.
- Perform day‑to‑day analysis, monitoring, and refinement of data to ensure accuracy, consistency, and alignment with business expectations.
- Document data element definitions, business logic, calculations, tolerances, and data transformation rules in a structured manner.
- Identify missing or incomplete data fields, assess business impact, and coordinate remediation with data owners and technical teams.
- Validate data outputs with stakeholders prior to production use, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Investigate data anomalies using SQL and analytical tools, supporting reconciliations and root cause analysis.
- Clearly document and track data issues with severity, impacted datasets, ownership, and resolution status through closure.
- Maintain data dictionaries, lineage documentation, and issue logs to ensure transparency, consistency, and audit readiness.
- Build, maintain, and refine dashboards, metadata, and governance artifacts in Collibra.
- Collaborate with data engineering, governance, and operations teams to improve data pipelines, quality controls, and processes.
- Support prioritization of critical data requirements based on usage, risk, and business impact.
