Firmware Test Automation Engineer – Embedded Systems

About the Chance:

A leading Indian multinational engineering and technology organization is looking for a Firmware Test Automation Engineer to join its Embedded Systems Validation team. The role focuses on ensuring the quality and reliability of embedded products through automated testing, hardware validation, and system-level verification.

Key Responsibilities:

- Create, maintain, and execute automated test scripts for embedded firmware applications.
- Perform functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end validation of embedded devices.
- Develop automation utilities and test tools using C# to interface with hardware platforms and laboratory equipment.
- Validate firmware behavior under different operating conditions, including power interruptions, resets, and fault scenarios.
- Capture and analyze debug logs, communication traces, and test results to identify product issues.
- Configure and operate electronic test equipment such as programmable power supplies and measurement instruments.
- Investigate failures, perform root cause analysis, and work closely with firmware, hardware, and development teams to resolve defects.




- Support continuous improvement of automation frameworks and validation processes.

Required Skills:

- Experience in embedded firmware testing and validation.
- Strong programming skills in C# for automation and test development.
- Knowledge of UART, USB, SPI, I2C, TCP/IP, and REST APIs.
- Experience with system integration, functional, and regression testing.
- Exposure to HIL environments and debugging.
- Ability to analyze logs and protocol traces.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Experience with test automation frameworks and scripting.
- Familiarity with Selenium and REST API testing.
- Understanding of embedded hardware and firmware validation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Pay: ₹100,000.00 - ₹1,800,000.00 per year
