Key Responsibilities
- Posting Payments: Electronically or manually posting payments from insurance companies (EOBs) and patients to the correct accounts and line items.
- Reconciliation: Balancing payment batches against bank deposits and ensuring all received funds are accounted for.
- Denial & Adjustment Handling: Applying contractual adjustments and correctly posting denials for further action.
- Account Updates: Updating patient balances and generating statements for patient responsibility.
- Error Resolution: Investigating and resolving payment discrepancies or posting errors.
- Reporting: Identifying payer trends and reporting issues to accounting.
