Job Description – Payroll & Compensation Asst Manager

Reporting To: AGM – HR & Admin

Role Purpose

To independently manage end-to-end payroll, statutory compliance, and compensation administration while ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and timely execution. The role requires a proactive qualified who leverages technology and automation to improve efficiency and strengthen payroll processes.

Key Responsibilities

- Independently manage monthly end-to-end payroll for approximately 50–70 employees.
- Process salary revisions, reimbursements, incentives, bonuses, and Full & Final settlements.
- Validate attendance, leave, statutory deductions, and payroll inputs.
- Manage PF, ESI, Professional Tax, TDS, Labour Welfare Fund (where applicable), and other statutory compliances.
- Ensure timely statutory filings, payments, and maintenance of records.
- Coordinate with auditors, consultants, and government authorities.
- Maintain compensation records and support annual salary revisions and bonus payouts.
- Prepare payroll MIS and cost reports.
- Identify and implement payroll automation and process improvements using HRMS and Excel.




- Resolve employee payroll queries and support onboarding and exits.

Candidate Profile

- Graduate / Post graduatein Commerce, Finance, Human Resources, or related discipline.
- 4–7 years of relevant payroll, compensation, and statutory compliance experience.
- Must have independently managed payroll for a 50–70 employee organization.
- Strong knowledge of Indian payroll legislation and statutory compliance.
- Experience with HRMS/payroll software and advanced Microsoft Excel.
- Proven ability to improve payroll efficiency through technology and automation.

Preferred Experience

Experience in construction, real estate, engineering, or infrastructure is preferred. Exposure to payroll audits and HRMS platforms such as ZingHR, GreytHR, Darwinbox, or Keka is an advantage.
