Role & responsibilities
Independently verify OEM-supplied process designs including mass and energy balance calculations, equipment sizing, utility consumption, and process safety requirements.
Develop and review Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and contribute to P&IDs; in coordination with design and procurement teams.
Prepare detailed process datasheets for equipment such as heat exchangers, vessels, pumps, dryers, and extraction systems.
Perform equipment sizing calculations using engineering fundamentals and first-principle calculations when OEM data is unavailable or insufficient.
Build, validate, and maintain process simulation models using tools such as Aspen HYSYS, Aspen Plus, or equivalent software.
Prepare detailed technical specifications for process and mechanical equipment for procurement activities.
Evaluate vendor technical proposals and conduct technical bid analysis based on process requirements and engineering feasibility.
Participate in vendor discussions, technical reviews,
and site visits while ensuring closure of technical issues.
Support Capex planning and budgeting through equipment cost estimation and utility consumption analysis.
Provide in office support during plant commissioning and startup activities.
Troubleshoot process deviations during trial runs related to yield, temperature, flow rate, and separation performance.
Validate plant performance against OEM-guaranteed parameters and escalate performance gaps when required.
Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and define process operating parameters for recent plant operations.
Work closely with cross-functional teams including design, procurement, mechanical, and operations teams for project execution.
Drive process optimization and ensure operational efficiency throughout project execution and plant startup activities.
